Concerts in the Park – Sundays and Wednesdays to August 13
Concerts in the Park continues this weekend on July 9 at 7:30pm with a performance from Canada’s largest and most award-winning youth marching band, The Burlington Teen Tour Band. Visit the Central Park Bandshell for free musical entertainment every Sunday and Wednesday until August 13. Bring a blanket or lawn chair. Check the event website for the up-to-date lineup.
Pick Your Own Strawberries at Stonehaven Farms – Daily to End of Season
The Stonehaven Farm market is open daily for the duration of the strawberry season. Be sure to visit their Farm Market for fresh baked goods and gourmet foods. Check their Facebook page for current picking conditions, policies, and hours.
Nature Connects® art with LEGO® Bricks – Daily to August 20
Take a stroll through the Royal Botanical Gardens’ Hendrie Park and explore the 14 works of art created with Lego by New York artist, Sean Kenney. Kids will have a great time at the Build Centre creating their own masterpieces. Be sure to pick up an activity book and check the daily schedule for guided tours.
Farmers’ Markets – Friday-Sunday to October
Load up on farm fresh items and shop local producers at one of our two farmers’ markets. Friday (8am to 4pm) and Saturday (8am to 2pm) visit the Burlington Mall Lions Farmers’ Market. On Sunday (9am to 12pm) head to downtown Burlington for the Centro Garden Farm Market.
Open Studio Workshop – Sundays
Join the Art Gallery of Burlington in their Creative Hub for a drop-in art studio workshop every Sunday from 1pm to 4pm.
Fit In The Core – Sundays to August 20
Burlington’s Fit In The Core sessions continue on July 9 from 10am to 11am with a danceTone class presented by danceScape. After you’ve toned your entire body with Cha Cha, Swing, Tango, and TaiChi movements, The Bent Spoon will be distributing samples of their edible raw cookie dough. Every Sunday there is a different open air fitness class outside City Hall. Bring your mat and water bottle.
MKRS MRKT 2017 – July 7
From 4pm to 10pm in Centro Garden’s back parking lot, local talented craftspeople will bring their products to this pop-up market. All vendors will have hand-made goods created with local material and ingredients ranging from clothing, to food, to furniture. Come support local small businesses.
The Royal Quest – July 8 and 9
From 11am to 4pm, embark on an epic journey in the Royal Botanical Gardens’ Arboretum. Travel back in time to the Golden Age of Piracy and assist the Royal Family in reclaiming flower seeds stolen by Pirates. The quest will involve several imaginative mental and physical tasks that include disguising yourself as a pirate, finding a secret passageway, and assembling a treasure map. Check online for admission pricing and registration.
The Burlington Herd will be taking on the Hamilton Cardinals at Nelson Park on July 8. Game starts at 1:05pm. The 8 is Superhero Day and Alumni Day. Check out the Herd’s website to purchase tickets and for their full game schedule. Come cheer on these hometown athletes!
Burlinton Downtown Car Show – July 8
Take a walk down Brant Street from 10am to 4pm for an opportunity to view both classic and exotic cars, enjoy live music and vendors, and test drive an electric vehicle.
Full Moon Social and Glow Paddle – July 8 – CANCELLED
All classes in early July hosted by Burlington Beach Rentals have been cancelled due to the high water levels. Don’t worry. Classes resume July 11at Kelso Conservation. Check Burlington Beach Rental’s Twitter for updates.
