Santa Claus is Coming to #BurlON 2019

by Kelly Harris

Santa Claus is coming to #BurlON!  His elves have been busy all year in the workshop and he’s had a long rest and eaten too many off Mrs. Claus’ cookies and is ready to come and visit us again this year. Here’s where you can see Santa in person this holiday season.

Saturday November 16 marks the annual Aldershot Village BIA Tree Lighting ceremony. It runs 3-6 pm at the Downsview Plaza at 355 Plains Rd. A Christmas Event at Ireland House takes place this Sunday November 17 from 11-3, at the museum located at 2168 Guelph Line. Santa Claus makes his grand appearance at Burlington Centre on Saturday November 23 at 9:30 am in the exterior parking lot. If the weather cooperates he will be arriving by helicopter so you won’t want to miss that! Come and enjoy a warm refreshment from Starbucks and cookies from Denninger’s and entertainment from the Burlington Junior Redcoats Teen Band as they parade Santa in through entrance one. He will visit with all the kids and then parade through the mall into his cabin at centre court where you can then get photos with him until Christmas Eve.  Burlington Centre is also offering Breakfast with Santa on November 30 and December 7 from 8:30-9:30 a.m.

One of our favourite things to do during the holiday season is to grab dinner out with the family, or pick up a hot chocolate and then head to Spencer Smith Park for the Burlington Festival of Lights on November 29 to January 8, 2020. . Wander through the park or get a full view of the themed displays while driving along Lakeshore Rd at the City’s waterfront.  Afterwards, enjoy a skate at the outdoor rink, Rotary Centennial Pond (weather dependent).
