Rogers Hometown Hockey in #BurlON

What a Fabulous Hockey Filled Weekend!

Thanks to everyone who came together to make Rogers Hometown Hockey a success.  There are so many groups and individuals who supported this event including the sports organizations who participated in the parade, broadcast, road hockey and collected for the Gift of Giving Back; the volunteers who helped with the Hometown Hockey experience; the businesses who decorated their windows in the hockey theme and promoted specials; the local hockey greats who told their stories; the community organizations who braved the cold and rain at their booths; to #Hometown Proud Walk Off the Earth, The Red Decade and Big Lonely who rocked their performances and to the Rogers Hometown for coming and transforming our city for a weekend – we loved hosting you!  Check out the stories on the Sportsnet website and below photos of the event.

We are thrilled that the City of Burlington has been selected to be one of the host cities for Rogers Hometown Hockey on the weekend of Oct. 26-28.  Each week during the 2018-2019 NHL season, the Rogers Hometown Hockey Tour visits a different community across the country with a weekend of free outdoor hockey festivities for all ages.  This weekend culminates with an outdoor viewing party of an NHL game broadcast every Sunday, with Ron MacLean and Tara Slone hosting live onsite from the Sportsnet Mobile Studio.  In Burlington this event is being held in Civic Square and on Brant St. in the heart of our downtown adjacent to City Hall.
