Board of Directors

Meet our Board

Tourism Burlington is overseen by a volunteer Board of Directors who represent various sectors of the tourism and industry and business sectors in the city. They meet from September to November and February to May on the third Thursday of the month at 8 a.m. The Board of Directors are elected at the Annual General Meeting held in May of each year.

Gord Langford

Position:  Director

Years on Board:  4 (Previous member)

Gord has over 40 years experience working in the hospitality field working for numerous hotel properties and most recently as General Manager of the Holiday Inn Burlington Hotel.  Gord has also served a term on the Hamilton, Halton, Brant Regional Tourism Association.

Nancy Brewer

Position: Treasurer – Executive Committee
Years on Board: 4

Nancy is a Chartered Account with over 30 years experience and operates her own company Nancy Brewer Professional Association.  Her volunteer experience includes being a Board member with the Halton Learning Foundation, Joseph Brant Memorial Hospital Foundation  and Board, Rotary Club of Burlington, and numerous other community organizations.

Councillor Kelvin Galbraith

Position: City Council Representative
Years on Board: New

Kelvin was born and lives in the Aldershot community where Kelvin owned and managed several businesses in Aldershot including a property holding company and The Fitness Firm Inc. for the past 20 years. In addition to his work, he has volunteered and served as Chairman of the Aldershot Village Business Improvement Association for the past 11 years and was a founding member.  Kelvin became a Council member representing Ward 1 in December 2018.

Jason Stoner

Position: Director
Years on Board: 7

Jason has been in the hospitality business for over 20 years working in Niagara Falls, Muskoka and on the airport strip in Toronto for Wyndham Hotels & Resorts as well as Intercontinental Hotels Group.  Jason is currently the General Manager of the Holiday Inn Burlington Hotel & Conference Centre.   In 2007 he won a Teamwork award from the Intercontinental Hotels. A certified Food and Beverage Executive (American Hotel and Motel Association), Jason has been a guest lecturer at George Brown College Hospitality Program.  He is a member of the Oakville Chamber of Commerce and the Burlington Hotel Association.  Jason has been a Burlington resident for the past 10 years and joined the Tourism Board of Directors as the hospitality representative in 2007. 

Ed Dorr

Position: Director

Years on Board: 3

Ed is a former member and chair of the Burlington Mundalization Committee (sister cities), member of the Joseph Brant Hospital building and facilities committee and as a former CEO for a large engineering company travelled extensively across the world.

Jaclyn Jones

Position: Director
Years on Board: 2

Jaclyn has over 20 years of marketing experience and currently owns Whiting & Holmes Marketing & Advertising.  She has  extensive board and volunteer experience with various fundraising events.  Jaclyn currently is the Membership Engagement Specialist for Burlington Downtown Business Association.

Jenny Wilkins

Position:  Director

Years on Board:  2

Jenny has almost 20 years of experience working in the hospitality field first with the Sheraton Hotel in Hamilton where she worked in various positions including sales and francise manager and now as General Manager at the Waterfront Hotel at Downtown Burlington.

Robin Ashton 

Position:  Director

Years on Board: 3

Robin is the Manager of Marketing Services for Conservation Halton and has been with CH since 2010.  Previously Robin has been part of the marketing team at Toronto Conservation Authority, University of Waterloo and Protiviti Inc./Robert Half International.  She has a BA from Western and Masters in Communication Design from Nova Scotia College of Art & Design and post grad certification in Communications & Public Relations and Interactive Media.

David Whale

Position: Director

Years on Board:  2

Dave worked in the hospitality field for many years in Toronto and Burlington before he moved into graphic design where he has worked for Burlington Downtown, Tourism Burlington and currently does marketing for Joelle’s & Jeff’s Guy shop.  Dave’s passion is music and he coordinates the Live & Local Music Series which promotes up and coming local artists.

Deanne Rodrique

Position:  Director

Years on Board:  1 year

Deanne has extensive experience in the marketing field having worked at Toronto & Region Conservation Authority and Ontario Lottery & Gaming Corporation before coming to the Royal Botanical Gardens as their Manager of Marketing, Sales & Visitor Experiences.
