Stefan Ptaszek - Professional Football Player

Stefan Ptaszek attended Nelson High School where he starred in football, basketball and baseball. While at Wilfrid Laurier University, where he played wide receiver for the Hawks where he holds the career record for both receptions and yards gained for the Hawks. In 1991 Stefan was drafted in the first round by the CFL’s B.C. Lions.  He played in the CFL for four seasons with the B.C. Lions; Hamilton Tiger Cats and the Toronto Argonauts. In 2003 Stefan began his coaching career with the Hawks as the offensive co-ordinator. He then went on to become the head coach for the McMaster Marauders from 2006-2015 and the offensive co-ordinator for the Hamilton Tiger-Cats in 2016-2017. Stefan is the offensive co-ordinator of the University of British Columbia Thunderbirds. Ptaszek was inducted into the Burlington Sport Hall of Fame in 2018. In 2019, Ptaszek is the head football coach at McMaster University.
