Dr. Mohit Bhandari - Surgeon/Professor
Dr. Mohit Bhandari is a pre-eminent leader in the field of orthopaedic surgery. A surgeon with the Division of Orthopaedic Surgery at McMaster University, he has conducted pioneering research relating to intimate partner violence and has led multiple, large-scale clinical trials. His advocacy on behalf of domestic violence victims has sparked a global conversation about the important role health care workers play in identifying and responding to abuse. Bhandari has been recognized for this contributions by receiving the Order of Ontario, The Order of Canada, the Canadian Orthopaedic Association’s Award of Merit, McMaster University’s Distiguished Alumni Award and the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Ontario’s Council Award for Outstanding Achievement. Bhandari has published over 1000 papers and has lead edited several of his field’s major research textbooks, including the best seller Evidence-Based Orthopaedics. Hi has received over $55 million in research funding over his career.
