#BurlON til May 2
We are hopeful that the worst of the weather is behind us and after last weekend, that spring is here to stay! Since the snow and ice are gone, it’s a great time to get outdoors and enjoy a walk by the lake or a hike on one of the beautiful trails in Burlington.
We enjoyed a lunchtime walk in Spencer Smith park and checked out the Sakura trees to see the status of the cherry blossoms. No blossoms yet, but we are hopeful that in another week or two we will get the beautiful picturesque blossoms we love.
Spring is a nice time to visit one of the Conservation Halton Parks. Crawford Lake is always nice to walk around the lake or hike 4.6 km from the lake to Rattlesnake Point. If you’re not into a hike, visit the Iroquoian Village and learn more about the First Nations way of life. Mountsberg is always great with their Raptor Centre where you can catch their Birds of Prey show daily (see website for times), playbarn and animals in the main barn. Enjoy a walk along the Lakeshore Lookout Trail.
If Arts & Culture is your thing, you’re in luck! The Art Gallery of Burlington has a new exhibit -the All Guilds Show, on until May 21st. Enjoy browsing the exhibit and after visit their beautiful gallery shop.
Theatre Burlington is presenting Hilda’s Yard, a comedic look into the realities of family life. There are shows Thursday-Saturday and you can check their website for ticket information.
Weekends are always a great time to visit one of Burlington’s many restaurants for a meal out. We have a new brunch blog if you are in the mood for brunch out, always a great way to spend a Saturday or Sunday.
If Mother Nature isn’t on your side don’t fear – Burlington still has plenty of indoor fun and our Rainy Days blog highlights some of the options. Take advantage of fun activities like indoor golf at Faraway Greens, a trampoline park (Rockin’ Jump), Escape room fun at Confundrum Escape Rooms or visit one of the two beautiful malls in Burlington – Mapleview Centre or Burlington Mall.
