Discover Burlington Ontario

#BurlON til May 16

by Kelly Harris

The cherry blossoms are out and Mother’s Day is this weekend- spring has sprung! Still not sure what to get Mom for Mother’s Day or where to take her to make her day special? We have lots of great local ideas in our Mother’s Day blog so make sure to check that out. There are still tickets for the Ireland House Champagne Tea taking place on Saturday. Burlington has so many great restaurants but don’t delay – make sure you make reservations as Mother’s Day is one of the busiest for dining out!

The Burlington Mall Lions Farmers Market is open for the season and celebrating 60 years. Visit them in the south parking lot at Prospect Street on Wednesdays 8-2, Fridays 8-4 and Saturday 8-2 until the end of October.

Centro Market kicks off on Mother’s Day and runs every Sunday from 9 am-noon. This is a great community market – grab a coffee and browse the market, then enjoy a stroll through beautiful Downtown Burlington. This weekend make sure you walk down to Spencer Smith Park to see the cherry blossoms while they are still out!

Why not catch a live show? We’ve got lots of options in town this weekend. See the Top Hat Marching Orchestra “A Night on the Town” on Friday night, Harbourtown Sound ‘Hits from Broadway’ or Heather Bambrick Saturday, or  Symphony on the Bay: From Rags to Riches on Sunday at the Burlington Performing Arts Centre.  Or catch Curtains at Drury Lane Theatre – a ‘whodunit’ style mystery.
