#BurlON ’til April 18
With the warm weather around the corner (hopefully!), spring is getting ready to fully bloom. There are many exciting activities and events this week to get your spring in full swing!
This is the LAST weekend for you to hop on over to the Royal Botanical Gardens to see an amazing exhibit of frogs! Lots of interactive displays, shows, special guests and so much to learn about frogs! This exhibit runs until Sunday April 15th.
The Art Gallery of Burlington has numerous free exhibitions, plus a lovely conservatory which makes you feel like you are in the tropics if this cool weather is getting you down. Enjoy their Suited to a Tea: Forty Years – Forty Teapots until April 17, where you can view a wide selection of creative tea pots from the Permanent Collection of Contemporary Canadian Ceramics. Also running until April 17th is the Damian Siqueiros: Prisms, Portraits of LGTQ Canadians in Culture exhibit. Here you can see Damian Siqueiros’s selection of art work that explores the combination of art and the LGTQ community. Catch some exciting audio-visual presentations at the Latow Photography Weekend exhibit, which is open Saturday April 14th and Sunday April 15th. Exhibits are free and be sure to visit their lovely gift shop while there.
With all the flowers beginning to bloom and the forests coming to life, it is a great time to enjoy the beauty of Crawford Lake! Explore the trails and learn about the wildlife in the area.
Have some fun with the family at Mountsberg! You can visit the farm animals at the barn, bird watching at Lookout Trail, fish in Bronte Creek and learn about eagles, hawks, and owls at the Raptor Center. Want to get amazing photos of these birds of prey? Come down to the Raptor Center for Raptors in Focus on April 15th between 9:30-10:30am to get an up-close photo of these majestic birds!
For some live theatre entertainment, head over to Theatre Burlington to see Hilda’s Yard by Norm Foster on Friday April 13th and Saturday April 14th. This play is a comedic look into the realities of family life that is full of laughs!
