Pan Am Games 2015

In February, 2009, the Province of Ontario’s not-for-profit bid corporation (BIDCO) announced that the City of Burlington's Sherwood Forest Park has been included in the final venue strategy for the 2015 Pan Am/Parapan Am Games bid. In November of 2009 it was announced that Toronto won the bid to host the 2015 Pan Am Games.  In December 2009 Burlington City Council changed the potential soccer site from Sherwood Forest Park to City Park (Kerns Rd. and Dundas St.).  This change is dependent upon Niagara Escarpment Commission and HostCo (new organization hosting the games) approval.
