Burlington is ideally positioned to support sport events and tournaments at all levels of play. And we’re easily accessible from all modes of transportation — planes, trains and automobiles. Located in the centre of the “Golden Horseshoe,” Burlington is within 75 km (46 miles) of 4 international airports (Toronto, Hamilton, Kitchener-Waterloo and Buffalo). The city has direct access to VIA Rail and southern Ontario’s interurban GO Train service, and is minutes to major highways.

The Haber Recreation Centre, is built specifically to support sport tourism, and features 8 single gymnasiums under one roof and numerous amenities to support the hosting of events. Burlington’s City View Park has 3 artificial turf soccer fields and was a training centre for the Toronto 2015 Pan American Games.

Our Sports Resume

Burlington has hosted a vast number of sporting events, including the Canadian National Road Cycling Championships, Canadian Baseball Championships, Ontario Cup Basketball Championships and World Racquetball among others.

The city also hosts many annual hometown sport events that have a long history. Among them, the Spring Cup, the largest invitational gymnastics event in Canada; the Chilly Half Marathon, attracting over 4,000 runners and walkers; and the Golden Horseshoe Hockey Tournament that features teams from North America, Europe and beyond.
