#BurlON Nov9-15

by Kelly Harris

Remembrance Day is this Saturday and it’s a time for us  to reflect on all those who faught so we could have what we have today. We are so fortunate to live in #BurlON and this is a day where we can take at least a minute to pause, reflect and show our appreciation. Check our Remembrance Day blog for service times and information.

It’s a great time of year to catch a live performance and we are fortunate to have the Burlington Performing Arts Centre in our beautiful downtown. November 10th you can catch Abbamania and sing along to Dancing Queen and other ABBA hits. Sunday afternoon you can see the children’s favourite Guess How Much I Love You/Love My Little Storybook.

Into the Woods is playing at Drury Lane Theatre until November 26th. For tickets and show information check their site.

Sunday is your chance to get active with The Great Stache Dash, a 1K and 5K run around beautiful Spencer Smith Park for Movember. This kicks off at 9:00 a.m. For registration and more information you can check here.

It’s getting to be that time of year to start thinking about the holiday season and this weekend is the Holiday House Tour of Distinctive Homes. It’s the 35th annual tour in the Hamilton/Burlington area. It runs November 10-12th and ticket information can be found here.

If you want to take advantage of the great outdoors before the snow flies, there is still great cycling and hiking at Bronte Creek Provincial Park or at any of the Conservation Halton parks.

A reminder that Novemburger is going on all month at 24 participating Burlington restaurants. Visit the restaurant, enjoy the featured burger, rate it on the Novemburger site and then repeat! We have tried a couple of the burgers and they are out of this world!

It’s a great time of year to take part in the True Brew Path in our area as well. Visit Burlington’s own craft brewery, Nickel Brook Brewery and sample their award winning ales. Take part in the trail and visit other local breweries and get samples and learn about the brewing process.

Our Visitor Information Centre is open every day from 9:00-4:00 so if you have a question or want to pop by for a brochure please come and see us.
