Be A Tourist In Your Own Town!To celebrate National Tourism Week June 7 - 11, 2010, Tourism Burlington together with their tourism partners, residents and visitors, want you to send an E-Post Card to your friends and family. Celebrating tourism throughout the country during a single week greatly magnifies the impact of individual efforts, large or small. Tourism Burlington will provide residents with ideas about exciting things to see and do right here in Burlington with their visiting friends and relatives. Developed by the Tourism Industry Association of Canada with input from provincial and territorial tourism industry associations, the theme of Tourism, Canada's Passport to Prosperity, Tourism Week in Canada 2010 works on several levels in terms of messaging: “Tourism, Canada’s Passport to Prosperity” conveys the value of the tourism industry to Canada’s local, provincial, territorial and national economies and to the quality of life of all Canadians. It captures the symbolism of the passport, which represents tourism and travel. It has an advocacy dimension that can be tied into the challenges the tourism industry currently faces as a result of the U.S. passport requirements introduced under the Western Hemisphere Travel Initiative. And from a marketing perspective, the theme can serve as a tag for fun, interesting collaterals with consumer appeal. |
